“What are atoms like?

Learning Outcome: Can point out the parts of an atom. Can talk about abilities using can in affirmative and negative sentences.

ACTIVITIES:

  • Watch the video “Atoms”  https://youtu.be/oFLH_0B4ZLg 
  • In your own words, explain how atoms and subatomic particles work (50 words) and make a drawing to illustrate an atom. 
  • Reflect about what an atom can and cannot do/have. 
  • Write ten sentences using can and cannot about atom’s characteristics. For example:
An atom can have many electrons.
Atoms cannot exist without subatomic particles.

Both activities must be done in the notebook. 

“How does the Earth move?” 

Learning Outcome: Can describe the Earth’s different types of movement. Can talk about abilities using “can” in affirmative and negative sentences.

ACTIVITIES:

  • Read the text “Planet means wanderer” from page 100 in your Shaping my Knowledge book.
  • Create a digital infographic to explain Earth’s  movements that are described in the text. I recommend you to use www.canva.com
  • In your notebook, write  10 things or phenomena that can or cannot happen due to the Earth’s movements. For example:
Rotation cannot make people fly off the Earth.
